Adult Acne Home Remedies with Tea Tree Oil

While you may have used the standard commercial cleansers and spot treatments during your teenage years, you may want to try something different as an adult. as a big fan of tea tree oil for keeping acne under control. Tea tree oil is a powerful antiseptic. It destroys bacteria on the face and helps to keep the skin clean so new pimples never have the chance to form. There are so many different ways to use pure tea tree oil for your skin. Try keeping a bottle around to help with your acne problems.

Quick Tea Tree Treatment

When I notice a pimple forming, the first thing that I do is kill any bacteria with a little tea tree oil and water. Dilute four drops of the essential oil into one-quarter cup of distilled water. Tea tree oil can be used at full strength, but it can irritate sensitive skin when undiluted. Dab on pimples with a cotton ball. Do this in the morning and then again later in the day to help keep the skin clean.

Honey, Clay, and Tea Tree Mask

Another way to use tea tree oil for adult acne is to regularly use a cleansing face mask. The antiseptic action of tea tree oil goes well with honey, which has antibacterial properties. Add some clay powder to help draw out impurities from the skin.

To make this homemade mask, combine two tablespoons of honey, one teaspoon of clay powder, and four drops of tea tree essential oil. Open pores by rinsing the face with warm water. Apply the mask over the skin. Let it set for fifteen to twenty minutes. Rinse well and pat the face dry.

Tea tree is excellent for managing acne and keeping the skin clean and refreshed. If you like the effect it has on your skin, try tea tree soap as a facial cleanser or other skin care products with tea tree oil. Having pimples as an adult is not easy, but great skin care can really help to create a great complexion, even with problem skin.
